Why HyVac Vacuum Fittings Are The Industry-Leading

Jun 26th 2018

The manufacturing and sales of vacuum fittings and parts may not seem like an important business or even a relevant industry, but it is. Our vacuum pieces and parts, such as the nw25, nw40, nw50, nw16, o-ring, and vacuum bellows support the scientific community and make their research possible. We assist in creating vacuum environments that spawn the exploration of space and new particles, to Elon Musk's Hyperloop — we play a big part in the scientific discovery and help them expand new information that is eventually brought to the masses.

If you support American-made products that are eco-friendly and highly-durable, then you have an ally in HyVac vacuum fittings. In today’s post, find out why HyVac is industry leading and the only company you want to buy your vacuum parts from!

You wouldn’t choose the second best for your research, would you? So choose HyVac.

What Makes Hyvac Industry Leading?

HyVac puts an emphasis on American-made products, because they are quite literally, a cut above! Don’t settle on a product that is an afterthought that may come with blemishes and compromises how your final research turns out — don’t take the risk of this unforeseen variable. American-made manufacturing pays their employees a fair wage and it shows. Our products are made thoughtfully and carefully, and we never sell questionable vacuum parts.

Beside being American-made, here are a couple more reasons to choose HyVac for your labs vacuum fittings.

  • Accuracy - HyVac parts are designed and manufactured specifically for your industry — the scientific industry — and are made for their reliability, accuracy, longevity, and performance. What other company has your research in mind when creating such niche pieces? HyVac does!
  • High safety standards - A minor blemish in a vacuum part could throw off an experiment and cause a safety hazard as a result. At HyVac we take this very seriously and would never put you or your lab at risk with a less-than-perfect vacuum part. Don’t risk this with another company.
  • Energy efficiency - Though this may not be your first criteria when looking for a vacuum part, we craft our fittings to fit specific devices so it fits snuggly and doesn’t waste any unnecessary energy.
  • Consistency - Companies that are producing vacuum fittings are likely producing a myriad of other parts, making their work inconsistent. At HyVac, our business is vacuum fittings, so product consistency is always a major player. All of our parts are created equal, and are made to be of the highest industry standards in quality.
  • Cost-effective - There are companies who sell deeply discounted vacuum parts, but their quality are affected. When you pay more, you get a better vacuum part and most of ours are reusable. Because you can reuse them from experiment to experiment, it cuts the cost back and you don’t have to constantly spend money replacing them.
  • We try and maintain inventory – It is difficult today to find things in stock. We try very hard to keep the bins at an optimized quantity for the historical order pattern. I does not always work out because we do not control the order patterns. It seems what ever is short or where the bin is empty, that is the time we get inundated with orders for that particular part number. It never fails.
  • CNC Computer Numerically Controlled – We manufacture these parts to ISO standards on CNC machines, lathes and mills, and can maintain tolerances and repeatability down to a couple tenths which in machinist speak is 0.0002” a fraction the diameter of a human hair. We also use special tooling to make sure that what matters is produced. Things like the flange faces, we attempt to make and QC to be as smooth as humanly possible understanding features containing potential micro leads and roughness grades / scale make a big difference in quality leak free fittings.
  • The majority not welded – Parts that have welds have a potential to leak. The vast majority of the parts we make are not welded, they are machined from solid round bar stock. Now some parts are welded, when there is no other solution. With those we engage a helium detector which is a tuned mass spectrometer using helium (smallest molecule) to detect leaks.
  • Wide Material Offering – We manufacture these fittings both in 304 Stainless Steel and also in 6061 Aluminum. We also cut brass, plastics and any other material your little heart desires. Anything besides Stainless and Aluminum generally though must be understood to fall into the “special” category and takes more patience from the customer while they are scheduled through the shop.

For vacuum parts and fittings that have accuracy, safety standards, energy efficiency, consistency, and are cost-effective, choose HyVac.
